It is important to understand that the success of Invisalign treatment depends on how long the aligners are worn. The aligners must be worn for the recommended amount of time per day (usually at least 20-22 hours) to achieve the desired results. Compliance with the wearing time and regular check-ups with us are crucial for the success of the treatment. However, under the guidance of Sahar Haroon, you also have the option of wearing your aligners only at night, as night aligners!
Invisalign is a long-term solution for correcting misaligned teeth. The aligners are changed at specific intervals to gradually move the teeth into the desired position.
After completing active Invisalign treatment, a retention phase is usually recommended to ensure that the teeth are stabilized either with a permanent wire or with a retainer that is worn at night. We recommend at least three years of stabilization.
For long-term success, it is important to follow our advice and instructions throughout the treatment to achieve optimal and long-lasting results.
As night-time teeth grinding can damage teeth and existing dentures in the long term, it is important to take measures early on. In addition, complaints such as headaches and tinnitus can occur over time. Many sufferers also suffer from sleep disorders, which can lead to persistent tiredness, concentration problems and reduced performance during the day.
Numerous appointments are usually required to successfully correct teeth with brackets. Brackets and wires are applied to the entire dental arch to gradually move the teeth into the desired position. It is important that these wires are regularly adjusted or replaced by an orthodontist to ensure that the desired tooth movements can take place.
Brackets can be used even for challenging tooth misalignments. They can correct both tooth and jaw misalignments and are used in combination with other treatment methods for various problems, including:
• Deep bite
• Overbite
• Tooth inclinations and crooked teeth
• Gaps between teeth
• Crowding of teeth
• Open bite
• Deep bite
• Crossbite
"Dark triangles" refer to the gaps that can appear between the teeth as the gums recede or shrink. These gaps can cause dark shadows to appear, which can affect the aesthetics of the smile. They are often caused by gum disease, bone loss around the teeth or other anatomical conditions. Treatment for "dark triangles" can vary depending on the cause and may include a combination of gum treatments, orthodontics or cosmetic dentistry.
To correct "dark triangles," we offer treatment with hyaluronic acid, among other options. Hyaluronic acid is injected directly into the affected areas to increase gum volume and minimize the gaps between the teeth. This non-invasive method can help restore a harmonious appearance to the gums without surgery or a palatal mucosa graft.
We decide on an individual basis whether hyaluronic acid therapy is suitable for you and what results can be achieved with it. After the treatment, your smile will look fresher and more youthful, as the "dark triangles" are reduced and a harmonious overall appearance is created.
For successful whitening, we recommend having professional dental hygiene treatment carried out a maximum of two months before your appointment to ensure an optimal tooth surface. We advise against whitening if you have extensive erosion on your front teeth, suffer from bulimia, have a lot of advanced caries or defective fillings, or wear dentures such as plastic restorations or crowns.
Before whitening: Professional teeth cleaning can improve the whitening results by removing tartar and plaque. We offer a combination package of teeth cleaning and whitening. Avoid discoloring foods for 1 to 2 hours before whitening and fill out the health questionnaire so that we can address your individual dental situation.
During whitening: Our professional whitening is painless and does not use peroxides. The whitening gel is applied in 4 sessions of 15 minutes each. Dental prostheses such as veneers can only be restored to their original color.
After treatment: Avoid staining foods, drinks, mouthwashes, and smoking for 24 hours.
Long-term results: Optimize your white smile with good dental care and oral hygiene. Use our whitening strips and whitening toothpaste extra white for one week after whitening to maintain the results.
During our whitening treatment, external discoloration of the enamel is removed. There are two types of discoloration: extrinsic and intrinsic. Extrinsic discoloration is caused by external influences such as deposits, while intrinsic discoloration affects the inside of the tooth, i.e., the enamel or dentin.
The dentin determines the color of the tooth and can be genetically darker than the enamel. Depending on how strongly the dentin shines through the enamel, intrinsic discoloration can occur. If the dentin is darker, it may not be possible to achieve the desired result with whitening.
We want to ensure that you have a realistic understanding of the results of our teeth whitening treatment before booking an appointment. People with a lighter starting color (A1, B1) or those who have already had their teeth whitened within the last two years often achieve better results than first-time treatments.
For darker starting colors (below A2), stubborn discoloration such as yellowish, brown, or orange stains may not be completely removed. In such cases, we may recommend a second treatment within 3 months.
The whitening effect can last up to 18 months, depending on your lifestyle. Diet, smoking, and individual tooth structure influence the durability of the results.
No, teeth whitening does not always work for the following reasons:
• Fillings, crowns, or dentures remain unchanged in color, as only natural tooth structure can be whitened.
• In the case of dead teeth, external bleaching may not be effective and treatment from the inside is required.
• For natural teeth, bleaching may not produce the desired whitening effect if the enamel is thin or transparent or if the dentin is dark.
• Stubborn discoloration of the enamel may require a second treatment within 3 months for optimal results.
• If bleaching does not achieve the desired results, veneers may be an alternative option.
With in-office bleaching, the treatment is carried out in a dental practice or a specialized studio such as ALPINE WHITE Studios, while with home bleaching, you can carry out the treatment in the comfort of your own home.
In-office bleaching offers faster and more effective whitening, supervised by a professional, while home bleaching is a convenient and more cost-effective option for those who prefer to bleach at home.
The choice between the two methods depends on individual needs, preferences, and time and cost considerations.
Teeth can become discolored for various reasons. This can be caused by certain color pigments in food and drinks that are deposited on the tooth surface. Stimulants such as smoking, coffee, tea and red wine can also lead to discoloration. With increasing age, the outer enamel can wear away, revealing the yellowish dentin underneath. Tooth injuries, root canal treatments, tooth decay and some medical conditions can also lead to discoloration.
