Improving oral hygiene with PRP

Black triangles (BT), open interdental spaces between teeth, can cause esthetic concerns, food impaction, phonetic difficulties, and periodontitis. The aim of this study was to determine the feasibility and long-term prognosis of a novel papilla regeneration with regenerative medicine, i.e., platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as a growth factor and hyaluronic acid (HA) as a scaffold substance. The mean volumes, operation times and follow-up periods of TEP were 1.32 ± 0.25 ml, 2.2 ± 1.62 times and 55.3 ± 17.7 months, respectively; the mean improved BT values were 2.55 ± 0.89 mm. Esthetic improvement was achieved.TEP was able to provide esthetic improvement of the black triangle and predictable results and could be considered as another novel option for regenerative periodontal therapy in periodontal disease.
